Frequently Asked Questions

The weather is currently bad, is the tour going to happen?
Please do not reach out to ask about the weather. Your guide will make the decision as to whether or not the tour will run relatively close to the tour start time and may call you if it's not looking likely to run. The weather also can change very suddenly in Kapalua.

There is no option to book on the day I want, why is this?
Bookability for tours becomes available 60 days in advance. If you're looking to book on a date past 60 days, please come back at a later time to book. If there is no option to book on one of the days within that 60 day window, it generally means that the tour is fully booked or there is not a tour operating that day.

Do you operate tours in other locations?
No. All of Stargaze West Maui's tours take place at the same location at Ironwoods Beach in Kapalua. This includes both group and private tours.

Can my under 6 year old come on the group tour?
No. ​For the enjoyment of all guests, children under 6 are not permitted on the group tour. If your party includes a child under 6, please do not book this tour, as your group will not be able to participate. No minimum age for the private tour.

Can we take pictures on the tour?
If you have a DSLR camera with a tripod and would like to take photos during the tour, you are more than welcome to do so a little bit away from the group as to not disrupt the tour with the light from the screen. Cellphones must stay put away throughout the entire tour as to not disrupt the rest of the group's eyesight with the light emitted.

How far is the walk to where the tour will take place?
It's roughly a 5 minute walk from the parking lot to the location on the beach where the tour will take place. There are some stairs along the path and it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues such as some elderly folks or those with injuries.
